The Controller is responsible for providing consistent leadership and oversight for the overall financial health and operations of the business, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves leading and managing the local accounting and operational team, ensuring the ongoing fiscal health of the business. The Controller will be responsible for the timely preparation of monthly financial statements, P&L, balance sheets, and the management of WIP, inventory, and receivables. They will also create and manage annual budgets, process and report month-end close, and ensure timely reviews and approvals of all balance sheet accounts, including reconciliations. The position directs and/or prepares all financial reports, investigates discrepancies, and ensures timely and accurate corrections. A key aspect of this role is implementing and auditing internal financial controls, assisting leadership with financial decisions, and effectively managing and communicating cash flow issues. The Controller must maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations and provide ongoing supervision, training, coaching, and feedback to improve performance and meet objectives. This includes setting objectives, delegation, and communication based on senior management direction, addressing performance concerns with constructive feedback, and ensuring direct reports comply with safety standards. Regular performance evaluations, formulation of corrective actions, and providing performance updates to senior management are also required. The Controller is responsible for effective hiring and continually searching for process/operational improvements. They will interface with other internal departments to resolve business issues and assist with various duties as requested.
