About The Position

Dhar Mann Studios is a leading digital media company known for its mission-driven content that resonates with a global audience. With over 1 billion monthly views and 70 billion total views across major social media platforms, the company, led by entrepreneur Dhar Mann, aims to create impactful stories that go beyond entertainment and contribute to positive life changes. The studio is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Controller to oversee its accounting operations, financial controls, closing processes, cash visibility, and finance infrastructure. This role requires an individual who can establish order, accuracy, and accountability within a dynamic creator economy studio environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the integrity of financial data, developing scalable processes, enhancing financial discipline, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial information and controls to the business. This leader must be proactive, adept at resolving root-cause issues, and capable of fostering trust in the finance department throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader.
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP, monthly close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proven success improving accounting accuracy, team discipline, and process rigor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cash management instincts and experience building practical cash reporting and forecasting visibility.
  • Experience owning AP, AR, payroll accounting, and general ledger operations at scale.
  • Strong systems experience, including QuickBooks, payroll systems, GreenSlate, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Strong Excel and Google Workspace skills.
  • Experience leading audits and coordinating with outside auditors, tax partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work hands-on in the details while leading a team and improving infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own all core accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and month-end close.
  • Lead the preparation of weekly and monthly financial statements, close packages, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with U.S. GAAP.
  • Build and maintain a disciplined close process with clear timelines, ownership, and review standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, approval workflows, and finance operating procedures.
  • Own real-time production finance needs around per-video budgets, cost reports, overages, wrap reports, and cost-per-video analysis.
  • Own 13-week cash reporting, AP/AR aging, and short-term cash flow visibility so leadership has a clear view of cash in, cash out, and liquidity risk.
  • Oversee accounting system integrity across QuickBooks, payroll systems, GreenSlate, and related platforms, including chart of accounts structure, reconciliations, and process alignment.
  • Ensure bills, vendor records, payment workflows, and balance tracking are handled accurately and on time.
  • Create spend controls around vendor onboarding, approval limits, purchase orders, credit cards, and expense policies.
  • Partner with HR and Operations on payroll reconciliations, labor-related accounting, and finance process compliance.
  • Serve as the finance partner to production, helping teams understand constraints without losing sight of real operating needs.
  • Lead audit readiness and manage internal and external audits from planning through resolution.
  • Manage and develop the accounting team with clear standards, ownership, and accountability.
  • Identify breakdowns early, escalate issues quickly, and drive corrective action before problems compound.
