About The Position

Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of commercial enterprise and government users. We will fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals. Logos is a Series A funded startup led by a team of highly experienced engineers with proven track records in the networking and satellite industries. About This Role The Controller at Logos Space will report to the Vice President, Corporate Development and Operations. This is a crucial mid-career role responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, accounting functions, and control environment of the company. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leader managing the full accounting cycle and ensuring the financial health and integrity of our systems as we scale. Your focus will be approximately 80% on core financial control and accounting, and 20% on foundational business planning and fundraising support. You'll be instrumental in developing and executing our financial strategy, providing critical insights to the leadership team, and ensuring the financial health of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 2 years as a controller in a startup environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing the full financial close process and general ledger in a startup or high-growth company.
  • Expert-level knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience implementing strong internal controls.
  • Proficiency with modern ERP/accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial results to non-finance stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace, technology, or telecommunications industries.
  • Experience with cost accounting or inventory management in a hardware/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a company that has undergone a successful audit or a funding diligence process (Series A or B).
  • Familiarity with financial regulations pertaining to government contracting (e.g., DCAA, FAR).

Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Financial Operations: Own the entire accounting function, including the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and fixed asset management.
  • Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and issue internal financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Financial Controls & Compliance: Design, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, overseeing the annual audit and tax preparation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and local/federal requirements, especially as they pertain to a technology company with potential government contracts.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Manage and continuously improve financial systems (e.g., ERP) and processes to support company growth.
  • Develop detailed financial reports and metrics for the leadership team and department heads.
  • Financial Planning: Support the VP of Corporate Development in developing the annual budget and ongoing financial forecasts.
  • Maintain the primary company financial model used for short-term planning and variance analysis.
  • Business Support: Assist the executive team with due diligence preparation and financial data requests for future fundraising rounds (Series B and beyond).
  • Help translate key operational metrics and business initiatives into financial targets and resource requirements.
