This position reports to the North America Group Financial Manager with a dotted line reporting structure to the KEJ General Manager and Kimball Electronics Inc. (KEI) Chief Accounting Officer. This position is responsible for the accuracy of KEJ’s financial reporting, the month-end closing process, internal controls compliance, providing data for business decision making, developing the KEJ finance team, continuously improving financial processes and supporting the business to drive profitable growth. This is an existing in-person position at KEJ. Basic Background Requirements This position will require: • The ability to work with all levels of the organization. • Excellent communication skills • A strong foundation of financial and cost accounting principles • A proactive and self-motivated individual that desires to make a positive impact on the organization • Bachelor’s degree (typically accounting or finance) • 5+ years of cost and financial accounting experience in a manufacturing setting • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office • Ability to travel periodically as required to support business needs (less than 5%) • Helpful, but not required: An MBA and CMA / APICS (manufacturing) certifications. Experience working in SAP ECC or S/4HANA Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform tools (BI, Apps, Automate) Key Performance Objectives Short Term: (0 to 3 months) • Learn Kimball philosophies to understand our financial policies, existing processes and controls • Become familiar with our production facility and customers in order to provide accurate financial forecasts • Build relationships with the KEJ finance team, KEJ leadership team, KEJ staff and our Kimball Electronics Shared Services (KESS) partners • Understand Kimball Electronics culture • Perform month-end close processes required for accurate financial statements • Focus on accurate and timely financial and management reports to support our profitability goals and cost management • Maintain a strong internal control and compliance structure within KE-Jasper to support accurate financial reporting Midterm: (3 to 12 months) • Assume ownership for: Full income statement and balance sheet forecasting and month-end closing Plant level quote process, which links to Global Quote processes Customer profitability analysis and reporting Fixed asset and capital expenditure process Standard cost system Record Retention Support KESS AP and AR processes • Provide leadership for the KEJ finance team, including ensuring accountability and identifying exposure opportunities for the team’s continued growth • Prepare and distribute accurate business reports (daily/weekly/monthly) while finding opportunities for automation and office productivity Longer Term: • Become an active voice in business decision making • Proactively provide recommendations for cost improvement opportunities • Develop and implement continuous improvements at both the department and business unit level • Collaborate globally on Cost Council project teams to drive standardization and efficiency across the Company • Achieve Green Belt Certification in KEJ’s Yellow/Green/Black Belt Certification Program • Support focused cost reduction initiatives targeted at specific programs or customers.
