About The Position

Universal Health Services (UHS), a Fortune 300 corporation and a leading provider of hospital and healthcare services, is seeking a Controller for South Texas Health System - McAllen Heart in McAllen, Texas. McAllen Heart Hospital is a specialized facility dedicated to cardiac care. The Controller will provide oversight of the finance department, including General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Decision Support staff. This role involves ensuring proper utilization and accounting of hospital resources in compliance with financial policies and procedures. The position also requires active participation and potential oversight in various components of the Revenue Cycle and Supply Chain, including the Business Office, Care Management, Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Materials Management/Supply Chain.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience coordinating and/or supervising acute care hospital/medical center finance staff including: Accounts Payable, Decision Support, General Ledger and Payroll
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Computer hardware/software skills required.
• Completion of training programs, as required.
• Bachelors degree.

Nice To Haves

• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight of the finance department including General Ledger, Payroll, Account's Payable and Decision Support staff.
• Interact with all Hospital departments ensuring proper utilization and accounting of Hospital capital and operating resources in accordance with Corporate and Hospital financial policies and procedures.
• Active participation and possible oversight for different components of the Revenue Cycle and Supply Chain within the organization including: Business Office, Care Management, Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Materials Management/Supply Chain.
