About The Position

The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years experience working with business financials in an accounting role
  • Previous experience as an Accounting Manager required
  • Strong people supervision skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Abilities to work independently on detail-oriented projects
  • Abilities to multi-task
  • Abilities to prioritize workflow based on departmental goals and priorities
  • Ability to convey financial information to non-financial people

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
  • Manages the annual audit.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
