About The Position

JAMHI Health & Wellness, Inc. is seeking a mission-driven and dedicated Controller to help the organization thrive. This role focuses on managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory and grant requirements, overseeing audit preparation, and identifying financial risks and efficiencies. You will collaborate closely with organizational leadership, department heads, and external partners to support budgeting, reporting, and financial planning efforts that ensure operational continuity and accountability. You will also supervise and support a small accounting team of two direct reports, helping guide performance, strengthen processes, and ensure the organization remains financially accurate, compliant, and well-prepared for both routine operations and audit or regulatory review processes. Pay rates offered are determined based on a standardized scale that considers relevant experience and education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Other degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
• Additional directly related professional level experience may substitute for degree on a year for year basis.
• Three years of progressive professional level accounting experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience, which can be concurrent with the roles above.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with current state regulation requirements.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license.
• Ability to clear JAMHI auto insurance screening through the independent insurance carrier if driving.
