Controller & Technical Accounting Manager
About The Position
Insight Restoration is seeking an experienced Controller & Technical Accounting Manager to oversee the accuracy, integrity, and technical aspects of its accounting operations. This is a hands-on role focused on detailed analysis, system improvements, and transforming complex financial data into clear reports for leadership. Unlike a traditional Controller position, this role involves active engagement with numbers, systems, and processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, exceptional Excel skills, and a passion for problem-solving and process improvement. This position offers the opportunity to become a key financial resource and significantly influence the company's accounting systems and processes during its growth phase.
Requirements
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting beyond basic transaction entry
- Exceptional strength in Excel
- Experience with month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Ability to research complex problems and develop practical solutions
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
- Ability to clearly explain complex financial information to leadership

Responsibilities
- General ledger accuracy, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
- Financial statements, cash flow, A/R, gross profit, and management reporting
- Job costing and profitability reporting for mitigation and reconstruction projects
- Advanced Excel models, analysis, reconciliations, and reporting tools
- Managing QuickBooks and integrations across payroll, expense, timekeeping, job-management, and other accounting systems
- Developing and maintaining internal controls, accounting procedures, and process improvements
- Payroll and benefits accounting reconciliations
- T&M billing, documentation, and reconciliation
- Accounting and payroll/billing reconciliation for an affiliated company
- Providing financial support for contracts, agreements, audits, tax preparation, and special projects
