About The Position

We are a locally owned, independent automotive dealership with a strong reputation for honesty, customer service, and community involvement. As a smaller operation, our team is tight-knit, collaborative, and hands-on. We are looking for a dependable and experienced Controller who can take ownership of our financial operations and be a key partner to leadership. The Dealership Controller will manage all aspects of the dealership’s accounting and financial functions. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller environment, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and enjoys working closely with ownership and department managers.

Requirements

3+ years of automotive dealership accounting experience preferred (but not required)
Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred (but not required)
Strong knowledge of dealership operations and financial statements
Experience with dealership software (Dealertrack, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar)
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Comfortable in a smaller, fast-paced, hands-on environment

Responsibilities

Handle day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, bank reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger)
Prepare monthly financial statements and dealer reports
Manage cash flow, expenses, and budgeting
Reconcile all schedules and ensure accuracy of financial data
Process and submit payroll and related tax filings
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations
Work directly with ownership on financial strategy and decision-making
Coordinate with outside CPA for year-end and tax preparation
Assist with HR-related administrative tasks as needed
