About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 10 years of Controller experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with operations partners (both Ford and UAW)
  • Leadership guidance and direction with an emphasis on adherence to corporate policies
  • Strong business acumen – voice of finance at the plant; ability to influence operating partners/decisions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly determine the merits of business opportunities
  • Leadership capability to develop the controller’s office personnel

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree.
  • 10 years of Controller experience in a Manufacturer
  • Previous manufacturing finance experience

Responsibilities

  • Finance lead for controlling assembly plant labor and overhead budget, and hourly and salary headcount
  • Finance representative on plant Operating Committee (OCM)
  • Prepare and report plant operating cost performance to OCM on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Responsible for the plant’s month-end close and monthly forecast submission
  • Ensure robust and accurate financial analyses to support manufacturing-related decisions
  • Develop and track the plant’s efficiency roadmap
  • Drive team to achieve competitive costs in all areas of the business
  • Act as a business advisor to the plant manager and Operating Committee
  • Responsible for the plant’s internal control processes and maintaining a robust control environment
  • Lead development of the plant’s manpower planning and monthly submissions
  • Tracking and reporting of launch costs
  • Lead assessment to align operating pattern strategies with production program and related impact on forecast
  • Review and approve purchase orders, credit card purchases, and check requests
  • Review and approve all plant-generated non-production projects
  • Lead maintenance planning meetings (weekends/holidays / down weeks/shutdown)
  • Support recovery of supplier-related quality and delivery cost penalties
