About The Position

A Control Wireman performs routine maintenance and emergency repairs on circuit breakers, transformers, power cables, and other elements at a substation. The company, Electric Power Systems (EPS), is a NETA-accredited independent electrical testing and engineering organization specializing in electrical acceptance testing, commissioning, and maintenance for clients across Data Centers, Utility, Generation, Renewables, Transit, Industrial and Commercial Facilities throughout North America. Requirements

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen due to this being a safety sensitive position.
Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs.
Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
An understanding of wiring diagrams is necessary, as this will be one of the primary means to determine cable location and termination sequence.

NETA certified a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelors or Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic technology, or Military experience preferred
Experience with the following test equipment: Power Factor Ductor Megger CT ration & saturation Hi-Pot
Knowledge of the following equipment: Circuit Breakers Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, High Voltage | LV/MV/HV Transformers Switchgear Motors PT's & CCVT's

Responsibilities

Termination of cables in the relay control panels, as well as any outdoor equipment (breakers, VT’s, etc.).
Assistance in correcting factory wiring may be required, as well as re-wiring existing circuits during a cutover at brown field substations.
