About The Position

The Control Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electronics, PLC, and robotic equipment in the facility. The role also involves programming, calibration, testing, and installation of this equipment. The technician is expected to have a thorough understanding of PLCs, VFDs, servos, communication systems, sensors, and other advanced components and equipment. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is identified as safety-sensitive within Leclerc Foods USA, Inc.

Requirements

Technical degree in industrial controls/PLC or equivalent education or experience.
5–10 years of relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
Practical experience and working knowledge of Rockwell components and software, such as RSLogix 500/5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and PanelBuilder.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong curiosity and willingness to learn and understand the plant’s evolving technology.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot faulty equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and perform corrective actions to restore it to working condition.
Maintain and repair PLCs, VFDs, vision systems, sensors, communication networks, control panels, and other control-related equipment and components.
Program PLCs, VFDs, servos, and HMIs as required.
Install, test, and calibrate electronic components in systems and control panels.
Assist with major issues by serving as the on-site contact for remotely connected OEMs.
Update schematics when changes are made.
Develop a deep understanding of the plant’s equipment ladder programming.
Become the industrial control expert and go-to resource in the plant.
Perform all duties diligently and with attention to detail.
