About The Position
HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER has an outstanding opportunity to hire a Control Technician - HVAC. This position performs skilled work in the inspection, testing, servicing, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, electrical, and computer controls for heating, air-conditioning, and related equipment. Work requires skills in electronic, pneumatic and mechanical control systems, and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
Requirements
- Completion of a four-year approved institution course as a Control Technician Trainee; OR four years of applicable experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems.
- Vocational or trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years.
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Responsibilities
- Install, modify, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair fire alarms and supervisory control components.
- Fabricate and install temperature and humidity controls; assist with system design.
- Use specialized tools for repair and calibration.
- Manage inventory of control parts and components.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
