About The Position

A leading LNG operator is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to support operations and project activities at its LNG facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting plant operations, system reliability, maintenance initiatives, troubleshooting, and capital project execution within a complex industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting distributed control systems (DCS), process control applications, and instrumentation systems within LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, or power generation facilities. Experience with Yokogawa systems and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS/SIF) is highly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of controls engineering experience within LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, or industrial process facilities.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Yokogawa DCS platforms.
  • Experience supporting Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS/SIF) and functional safety applications.
  • Strong understanding of industrial process control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting plant control systems in an operating facility environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret: P&IDs, Control narratives, Loop diagrams, Cause & effect diagrams, Logic diagrams.
  • Familiarity with MOC processes and plant operational procedures.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior LNG operating facility experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with commissioning, startup, and plant optimization activities.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices related to industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, HMI platforms, and historian applications.
  • Functional Safety certification or SIS lifecycle experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting brownfield projects and live operating facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for process control systems, automation systems, and plant instrumentation across LNG operations.
  • Support the maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization of Yokogawa DCS and associated control systems.
  • Assist operations and maintenance teams in resolving control system and instrumentation issues impacting plant reliability and performance.
  • Support alarm management, loop tuning, control strategy improvements, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in plant startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnaround activities as required.
  • Develop and modify control narratives, logic diagrams, cause-and-effect documentation, and functional specifications.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes related to control system modifications and upgrades.
  • Interface with operations, maintenance, process engineering, reliability, and project teams to support safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Support Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF), and functional safety lifecycle activities.
  • Review and troubleshoot field instrumentation including transmitters, analyzers, valves, and associated control devices.
  • Provide technical input for capital projects, control system upgrades, and system integration activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.
