Control System Engineer

Trimble Inc.•Westminster, CO
•$122,500 - $168,400•Onsite

About The Position

The Control System Engineer designs automatic motion control system algorithms for off-highway industrial machinery, including tractors, combines, excavators, and dozers. The role develops, maintains, optimizes, and integrates core control algorithms into products using MATLAB/Simulink. This is an onsite position in Westminster, Colorado, with travel of up to 10% annually. The engineer partners with domain experts and project teams to architect positioning and control systems and establish achievable requirements. They develop control laws and vehicle dynamics models, define system and software architectures, and write maintainable code and models. The role also validates algorithms through simulation and physical machine testing, develops test cases tied to control requirements, and creates data-processing tools that support development, analysis, and deployment. Trimble AgIS provides GNSS- and control-system-based hardware and software technologies for customer solutions, including those for the PTx Trimble joint venture with AGCO. Trimble describes its culture as purpose-driven, collaborative, and entrepreneurial, with an emphasis on real-world impact, ownership, belonging, innovation, and growth.
