About The Position

Provides expertise and analysis to managers and other employees within the department while ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard. Works with minimum supervision. The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling plant operations from a centralized control room. This role oversees production systems, monitors alarms and system data, and communicates with field operators to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, production, or plant operations experience preferred
  • Experience with SCADA, DCS, or industrial control systems preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to remain focused and make decisions in high‑pressure situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor plant operations through control room systems and process monitoring software
  • Respond to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and system alerts
  • Adjust operational parameters to maintain production efficiency
  • Coordinate with field operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors
  • Maintain accurate logs and operational records
  • Support plant start‑ups, shutdowns, and system transitions
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures
