About The Position

Operates the processes by which raw material is cooked and processed into a high-quality product for sale. This is accomplished by performing the following duties. Starts the conveyance system to bring raw materials into the process area. Observes pressure, temperature, and meters on the panel to verify specified operation of automatic and manual systems, and regulators. Turns and adjusts controls to set specified feed of materials during different stages of the process. Observes gauges and dials to detect malfunctions and makes repairs or reports a malfunction for repair. Maintains log of meter and gauge readings and records data to help maintain high quality finished products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Keep work area clean and free of clutter(housekeeping).
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment(PPE).
  • Using correct tool for each job assignment.
  • Report injury of oneself or coworker to management.
  • Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document.
  • Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues.
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
