About the role We are looking for a Control Room Specialist - Concentrator Operations, to support safe, efficient, and optimized process operations from the central control room, including real-time monitoring, coordinating field teams, and ensuring the effective execution of production plans. This role is responsible for responding to alarms, troubleshooting process issues, and partnering closely with field operators and maintenance teams to manage routine operations, startups, shutdowns, and process upsets. As the operational hub, you will make timely, informed decisions to maintain production targets while prioritizing safety. This is an opportunity to apply your control room expertise and make a direct impact on copper production performance. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, on a rotating shift schedule and working collaboratively with operational and functional teams, you will be responsible for:

Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Experience in control room operations and/or supervisory roles
  • Strong analytical capability and technical aptitude, with the ability to interpret and act on process data
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and positively influence peers and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and process control interfaces
  • Ability and willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Candidates must have current, valid authorization to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Championing safety leadership by driving a zero-harm culture and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols
  • Monitoring and optimizing process performance using control systems to maximize throughput and recovery
  • Coordinating and communicating with field personnel and cross-functional teams to execute production plans
  • Responding to alarms and troubleshooting process issues in real time
  • Supporting routine operations, including startups, shutdowns, and process upsets
  • Maintaining accurate control room logs and operational reports
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities in process control and operating practices
  • Making timely decisions to support production targets while prioritizing safety
  • Acting as the primary contact for emergency communications and directing response efforts as required
  • Ensuring clear communication of operating strategies and shift priorities to field teams
