About The Position

SpecialtyRx is a fast-growing long-term care pharmacy that provides personalized pharmaceutical care to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. The Control Room Pharmacist evaluates medication orders, supports safe and appropriate medication therapy, responds to medication-related questions, supervises medicine preparation, and maintains controlled-drug records and security. The role includes on-call duties when required and is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Must be reliable and able to execute multiple assigned tasks.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to physically perform light lifting.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

• Previous narcotics experience preferred.
• Frameworks/ECM knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and client facility staff when necessary.
• Maintain customer databases, including medical history, clinical information, and laboratory data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members about medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of medicines.
• Maintain controlled-drug registers for legal and stock-control purposes.
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform on-call duties when required.
