About The Position

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Control Engineer, supporting Air Force Test Operations, at White Sands near Alamogordo, New Mexico. Open to internal and external candidates. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift. The successful candidate will design, develop, implement, and maintain control systems used to automate industrial processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability. Must understand automation technologies to include Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and industrial robotics. This position will require the applicant to become proficient in using Siemens TIA Portal software to program controllers and perform diagnostic troubleshooting of system faults, as well as become familiar with programming and editing the SIMATIC WinCC OA based SCADA interface. The applicant will also become knowledgeable of system components (I/O modules, Position Encoders, Limit switches, Pressure Sensors, VFDs, etc.) and how they are used in the system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering or similar degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Mathcad, MATLAB, and Simulink.

Responsibilities

  • System Design & Development: Design new control systems, create detailed plans, P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams), and electrical schematics using CAD software.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Perform system testing, commission new equipment, and troubleshoot issues with existing control systems, often requiring hands-on diagnostics with tools like multimeters.
  • Documentation & Standards: Maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, operation manuals, and change control records. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Systems engineering expertise includes the ability to develop, coordinate and present technical reviews.
  • Collaboration & Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, as well as provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations teams
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
