The Aerospace Corporation•El Segundo, CA
•$32 - $38•Onsite

About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Control Analysis Graduate Intern for its Control Analysis Department within the Guidance and Control Subdivision of the Vehicle Systems Division. The department provides technical systems engineering and analysis for space-based control systems across defense, civil, and commercial programs. Its work addresses spacecraft control needs amid increasingly modular and autonomous vehicles and expanding applications such as robotic manipulation for on-orbit servicing, assembly, and manufacturing. The intern will perform technical studies, detailed analyses, and tool development related to satellite attitude or payload control, dynamics, and estimation; analyze rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking scenarios; develop robotic platforms and algorithms for internal research and development; and design, implement, and test attitude determination and control algorithms for CubeSat-class vehicles. Training and mentorship will be provided, and duties may change or be added as needed. The position is full-time and on-site at the company’s El Segundo, California facility. The internship requires at least 10 weeks of full-time availability outside the university term, with a return to full-time graduate studies after completion. Applicants must be currently pursuing a master’s or PhD in a relevant field and have completed an undergraduate degree by the internship start date. U.S. citizenship is required because the position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued security clearance. Temporary housing assistance is not available.
