About The Position

The Contracts & Pricing Execution Manager is a key member of the Government Programs (GP) organization within Contracts & Pricing Execution (CPE). CPE is part of the US Value & Access organization and is responsible for supporting commercial and government pricing and contracting execution activities. As a member of the GP team, the Manager, Contracts & Pricing is central to ensuring Amgen’s success in the Government Healthcare Markets, including Medicaid and Medicare. The Government Healthcare Markets cover a substantial portion of Amgen patients. The Contracts & Pricing Execution Manager will be responsible for the calculation, processing, and submission of prices and payments for Government Programs. This role is central to ensuring Amgen’s managing compliance with government price reporting and payment requirements under federal programs including Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) programs, the Federal Supply Schedule, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program. The Contracts & Pricing Execution Manager will report to the Sr. Manager, Contracts and Pricing Execution, in the Contracts and Pricing Execution (CPE) team within US Value and Access (USV&A) and will collaborate with CPE and other USV&A team members.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Model N Revenue Cloud.
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology experience.
  • Deep understanding of the US commercial and government healthcare and reimbursement environment.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to analyze large and complex data sets, including the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Solid experience solving complex business problems through implementation of process efficiencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills
  • Previous experience preparing and delivering information for decision making by executive management.

  • Exceptional experience with Excel modeling; Tableau experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for calculations and submissions of pricing and payment-related activities related to Medicare, Medicaid, VA, 340B, and State Reporting.
  • Review contracts to identify discount structures for Amgen products and prepare documents to support pricing submissions.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly calculation changes, including trends, variances, reconciliations, and data validation, and communicate key drivers of change to the leadership team.
  • Execute internal control processes designed to analyze and validate data utilized with a particular focus on identifying outliers, anomalies and potential data integrity issues.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance analytical capabilities, improve data quality, and gain efficiencies.
  • Assess the adequacy of the risk management, control, and governance processes associated with team functions.
  • Document policies, procedures, risks-controls, and findings.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on pricing, contracting, and payment processes.
  • Provide input to Coverage & Pricing teams to educate on impact of contracting strategies on Government Programs.
  • Partner with Information Systems to create and test business processes and systems that produce accurate and timely government pricing and payment results.
  • Assist auditors with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requests and other audit related activities to ensure compliance and accurate documentation of controls.
  • Interact cross functionally with Contracting Operations, Trade & Distribution, Provider Contracting, Payer Contracting, Compliance, Internal Audit, Accounting, and Information Systems.
