Hartzell Propeller seeks a detail-oriented Contracts Intern to support contract administration, document organization, milestone tracking, and process improvement activities. This is a paid, part-time internship expected to continue through December 2026. The intern will generally work approximately 10 hours per week, with the potential for up to 20 hours based on workload and availability. The intern will gain hands-on experience reviewing business agreements, maintaining contract records in SharePoint, tracking key contractual events, and improving the accessibility and accuracy of contract information. The role may also support contract reporting and workflow automation using Power BI or similar tools, as well as international airworthiness validation documentation as time allows.

Requirements

Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and actively pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related business field.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately review document-intensive information.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain consistent filing, naming, and version-control practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential or sensitive business information appropriately.

Nice To Haves

Prior coursework or experience involving contracts, business law, data analysis, records management, or project coordination is preferred.
Familiarity with SharePoint or another document management system is preferred.
Experience with Power BI, reporting tools, or workflow automation is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Review assigned contracts and identify effective dates, expiration dates, renewal dates, notice periods, key milestones, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
Summarize important contractual events and flag expired, terminated, or soon-to-expire agreements for review.
Organize contract amendments, link amendments to their parent agreements, and prepare concise summaries of execution dates, key changes, impacted terms, and current status.
Populate and maintain the SharePoint contract library using consistent metadata, naming conventions, filing structures, and version-control practices.
Verify that contract records are complete, legible, digitized, and properly archived; scan physical records as needed.
Enter and maintain contract milestones and events in tracking tools, including schedule information used for Gantt charts and status reporting.
Compile and maintain reports of active, expired, and approaching-expiration nondisclosure agreements (NDAs).
Assist with improvements to contract reporting and workflow automation within SharePoint, using Power BI or similar tools when appropriate.
As time allows, assist with international airworthiness validation packages by organizing supporting documents, maintaining checklists, and tracking project status.
