About The Position

First 5 Alameda County is seeking a Contracts & Budget Analyst to support the Agency's contracting, procurement, budgeting, and grant administration activities. In this role, you'll work closely with program and finance staff to help manage contracts, monitor budgets, ensure compliance with funding requirements, and support financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and collaborating across teams to support programs that improve outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

  • One (1) year in contract compliance and budgeting
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public or business administration, accounting, or a closely related field. A degree is not required and relevant experience may substitute for education requirement.
  • Knowledge of Contract administration and procurement
  • Knowledge of Budget development and financial tracking
  • Knowledge of Grant and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of Financial reporting and analysis
  • Ability to Analyze financial and contract information accurately.
  • Ability to Prepare accurate contracts, reports and documentation.
  • Ability to Stay organized and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to Build positive working relationships across teams.
  • Ability to Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to Interpret policies, regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Ability to Exercise sound judgment and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing, reviewing, and managing contracts and procurement documents.
  • Monitor contract and grant compliance and help ensure deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Support program budget development, tracking, forecasting, and expense reconciliation.
  • Prepare financial reports, budget updates, and required grant reporting.
  • Review contracts for completeness, accuracy, and potential risks.
  • Conduct contract compliance reviews and help coordinate contract amendments.
  • Assist with fiscal year-end activities, audits, and financial reconciliations.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on contracting, procurement, budgeting, and financial processes.
  • Help maintain contract, procurement and grant management systems and records.
