About The Position

Provides direction and support to ensure the effective execution of various contracts and university purchase orders for capital projects in Facilities Design and Construction. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Ohio Revised Code Chapter 153 (ORC153), Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 153 (OAC153), and University Policies in support of capital project activities in the execution of contracts, change orders, and university purchase orders. Manages and coordinates the bidding and contracting process with external professional service firms, contractors, and OSU Office of Legal Affairs. Assists in the monitoring of project scope, schedule, cost and quality of projects. Maintains, manages and updates project management and contracting tasks within the department's Project Management System. Reports directly and is accountable to the Director of Program Management with a strong business partnership with Project Managers, Project Accountants, Program Administrators, Director of Projects, Office of Legal Affairs and senior level management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Email, Word and Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, Ohio Revised Code 153, Ohio Administrative Code 153, applicable government laws and university policy.
  • Ability to independently produce high quality, complete work product while balancing workload and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities and demands.
