About The Position

Responsible for processing new contracting paperwork for agents. Responsible for all agent support regarding contracting and contracting process. This role involves processing contracting paperwork with the applicable carrier through the carrier’s portal or preferred method of submission, following up on any outstanding issues, and providing customer service to agents via phone, email, and in person. The specialist will also create Service Requests (SRs) to track and handle agent issues, communicate with carriers to resolve agent issues, and provide full circle customer service. Additionally, the role includes cross-training assignments, assisting with New Business applications, and potentially training new hires.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year customer service experience and/or data entry experience.
  • One-year experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills, especially over the phone.
  • Good computer and typing skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including email, copy machine, scanner, fax machine, and telephone.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of insurance and agent relationship is preferred.
  • Knowledge of New Business operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Processing contracting paperwork for agents.
  • Saving new contracts to the Inbound Licensing Folder.
  • Scrubbing inbound contracts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Verifying necessary documentation is included and attached.
  • Verifying hierarchy is appointed and working with the upline if additional contracting is needed.
  • Processing contracting paperwork with the applicable carrier.
  • Following up on outstanding issues regarding contracting.
  • Providing customer service to agents via phone, email, and in person.
  • Creating Service Requests (SRs) to track and handle agent issues.
  • Communicating with carriers to resolve agent issues.
  • Providing full circle customer service to verify agent issues are properly and thoroughly addressed.
  • Assisting with processing New Business applications.
  • Assisting with additional agent support.
  • Keying application information into the appropriate carrier website.
  • Training new hires, temporary employees, and cross-training current staff.
  • Assisting with special projects.
  • Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
