About The Position

Idaho Power, located in the vibrant community of Boise, Idaho, is seeking a motivated Contracting Agent to join our Supply Chain Procurement team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to provide our customers with the safe, reliable, and affordable energy they depend on. The Contracting Agent works independently and with minimal guidance to lead stakeholders in the development of internal customer materials and service contracts of significant risk and/or complexity. They lead the competitive bidding process, negotiations, and prepare comprehensive contract documents. The Contracting Agent will meet business unit cost objectives with a focus on delivering the best value to Idaho Power.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4 or more years related work experience
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
  • Knowledge of Contracting practices, terms, and conditions
  • Knowledge of Developing and writing a statement of work
  • Knowledge of Negotiation techniques and supplier management practices
  • Knowledge of Competitive bidding processes
  • Knowledge of Contracting strategies and principles for a wide range of service/goods industries
  • Knowledge of ERP and EAM systems
  • Knowledge of Business Acumen
  • Skills in Excellent time management, decision making, and analytical skills
  • Skills in Effective problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
  • Skills in Verbal, written, and professional communication, including effective listening
  • Skills in Highly organized, able to manage and coordinate multiple projects, including competing priorities with frequent interruptions

Responsibilities

  • Lead stakeholders in the development of internal customer materials and service contracts of significant risk and/or complexity.
  • Lead the competitive bidding process.
  • Lead negotiations.
  • Prepare comprehensive contract documents.
  • Meet business unit cost objectives with a focus on delivering the best value to Idaho Power.
  • May be required to work extended hours in the event of large emergencies, i.e. fires, outages, etc.
  • Be accessible after normal business hours for responding to leadership and customer requests.
