The Mid-Level Contract Support Specialist shall provide comprehensive acquisition support throughout the Federal acquisition lifecycle, including pre-award and post-award activities. This role involves conducting research and analysis of technical, acquisition, cost, and pricing information to support procurement and Contracting Officer decision-making. The specialist will research, review, interpret, and apply Federal acquisition policies, regulations, directives, guidance, and procedures, including the FAR and VAAR. Responsibilities include reviewing and assisting in developing acquisition requirements and procurement documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy. The role also involves providing acquisition and business advice to technical experts and program personnel, analyzing and assisting with the development of Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), and coordinating logistical and acquisition-related actions. Support is needed for acquisition plans, strategies, and administration functions, as well as researching policies and guidance to support Contracting Officer decisions. Collaboration with Government leadership and stakeholders is essential for analysis and developing courses of action. The specialist will assist with cost-benefit analyses, evaluate pricing and cost data, and help establish contract parameters and controls. Monitoring contractor performance and resolving contract administration matters, including changes, claims, and payments, are key duties. Preparation of contract modifications and supporting documentation, as well as supporting Contracting Officers throughout all phases of acquisition involving modifications and orders, is required. Maintaining accurate documentation and performing additional acquisition and contract support activities are also part of the role.
