About The Position

XLA is seeking a Contract Support Specialist to support a federal agency in Arlington, VA. This is an onsite position, Monday-Friday. Candidates must be local to the Arlington, VA area to be considered. The role involves reviewing Request for Contract packages, solicitations, and contract files, conducting market research, reviewing cost/price proposals, preparing reports, processing orders and contract modifications, and maintaining official documentation in accordance with the FAR and office procedures. The specialist will also handle pre- and post-award actions, prepare correspondence, update systems, and review documents for feedback. Key duties include processing FOIA and Privacy Act requests, establishing and maintaining data, preparing purchase orders, overseeing contractor record retention, and ensuring proper file management.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of Federal Contracting such as FAR and other regulations.
  • Hands-on experience that demonstrates expertise in contracting and procurement.
  • Experience in establishing and implementing U.S. Government acquisition programs and policies.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of Contracting and procurement and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience (7 years of directly related experience will substitute for education).
  • Proficient knowledge of Federal Contracting such as FAR and other regulations.
  • Hands-on experience that demonstrates proficient expertise in one or more functional areas related to contracting and procurement.
  • Experience in establishing and implementing complex U.S. Government acquisition programs and policies.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review Request for Contract packages, solicitations and contract files.
  • Conduct Market Research.

  • Processes orders and contract modifications.
  • Maintains official documentation in files in accordance with the FAR and office procedures.
  • Handles actions related to pre- and post-award.
  • Prepares required correspondence.
  • Updates systems as required by the FAR and office procedures.
  • Reviews documents and provides feedback as necessary.
  • Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act requests and/or Congressional Inquiries.
  • Establish and maintain data for assigned work, including logbooks and automated systems for internal/external reporting.
  • Prepares purchase orders and/or maintains official documentation in files.
  • Oversee retention of records by contractors to meet records review requirements of the Government.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of files.
