About The Position

This Contract Support Specialist position is located at the White Sands Test Center Resource Management Directorate, Procurement and Accounting Division, Procurement and Contracts Branch, White Sands Missile Range, NM. Duties include preparing and presenting written guidance, decisions, briefings, and reports. The specialist will serve as a key point of contact, providing technical advice on all matters relating to contract management. Responsibilities also include administering and procuring a variety of specialized equipment and complex services, performing complex contract administration duties to ensure all procurement activities adhere to agency policies, developing procurement plans and evaluation systems, and evaluating contractor proposals, cost and pricing data, and business systems to make recommendations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for access for the duration of employment.
  • Must occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position requiring Practitioner Level 1 - must meet position requirements for Contracting certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Planning and conducting pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions; 2) Advising on and preparing documents for contract modifications; and 3) Execution of government purchase card request.
  • No substitution of education for experience is allowed.
  • Must be able to obtain Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) certification and complete all associated training and/or certifications per Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) and the Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFARS).
  • Must complete a 1 year probationary period.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
