About The Position

OCT Consulting is seeking a Contract Specialist with at least 4 years of relevant experience in federal acquisitions. The role involves supporting Federal Government clients with consulting services in areas such as Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology. The specialist will be responsible for preparing pre-award documentation, supporting post-award activities, and assisting in contract closeouts. Experience with various contract vehicle types is required, and experience supporting an acquisition office in the Contract and Procurement Series 1102 is preferred.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in federal acquisitions
  • Experience with a variety of vehicle contract types, including but not limited to fixed price, time and materials, cost/cost-plus, interagency agreements, IDIQ, and BPA
  • Four (4) years of full-spectrum federal contract experience
  • A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field; or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • Knowledgeable in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal contracting procedures
  • Proficiency in using software tools for document creation, collaboration, and formatting, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PRISM or similar contracting writing systems
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to project timelines
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, acquisition professionals, and stakeholders
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must live within a 90-minute drive to Washington DC
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. The investigation will involve a credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting an acquisition office in the Contract and Procurement Series 1102
  • Acquisition certification is highly desired (i.e., FAC-C, DAWIA certification, and NCMA certifications will also be considered)
