About The Position

Responsible for managing the full lifecycle of healthcare contracts and procurement activities to support hospital operations, clinical services, and patient care. This role negotiates, drafts, and administers contracts; evaluates vendor proposals and pricing; ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies; and collaborates with clinical, administrative, and supply chain stakeholders to secure high-quality, cost-effective goods and services while mitigating operational, financial, and regulatory risks.

Requirements

  • Fundamental knowledge of project/program management, healthcare contract negotiation, purchasing, and full-cycle procurement processes within a hospital or clinical environment.
  • Ability to analyze and develop optimal negotiation strategies by building rapport, actively listening, and identifying value-based trade-offs with vendors, physicians, and healthcare service providers.
  • Detail-oriented with strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, particularly in managing healthcare contracts and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate and support operational and clinical initiatives, ensuring contracts align with service standards, patient care goals, and regulatory requirements in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments, including clinical, administrative, and internal supply chain teams, to support hospital contracting and procurement initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively—both verbally and in writing—with internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding contracting, purchasing, compliance, and contract performance.
  • Ability to review and analyze healthcare contracts to identify financial, operational, and regulatory risks, including compliance with applicable healthcare laws and standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and prepares healthcare contract documents from initiation through execution, including agreements for clinical services, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and hospital vendors.
  • Ensures contracts include all required state and healthcare-specific legal and regulatory clauses, including compliance with applicable federal and state healthcare laws (e.g., HIPAA, CMS requirements).
  • Reviews, negotiates, drafts, revises, and amends contracts to ensure compliance with institutional policies, healthcare regulations, and hospital operational standards.
  • Participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements to support clinical operations, patient care delivery, and hospital support services.
  • Evaluates cost estimates for supplies, equipment, and services, including analysis of pricing, performance requirements, and delivery timelines to support efficient hospital operations.
  • Reviews vendor proposals and bid responses for goods and services to ensure alignment with contract requirements, regulatory standards, and hospital needs.
  • Negotiates contracts and amendments with vendors, service providers, and suppliers, focusing on cost containment, quality outcomes, and service reliability.
  • Coordinates with clinical, administrative, and supply chain departments, serving as a liaison between the hospital and vendors to ensure successful contract implementation and performance.
  • Assist with ongoing contract monitoring throughout the lifecycle, including compliance tracking, renewals, amendments, and terminations, ensuring continuity of critical healthcare services.
  • Assist with contract closeout activities, ensuring all deliverables are met, regulatory requirements are satisfied, and proper documentation is completed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned in support of hospital contracting, procurement, and operational objectives.
