The Contract Specialist II, under supervision, performs required reviews on University contracts, coordinates with the Procurement Office to ensure timely execution. Processes departmental purchase requisitions, as assigned. Performs daily contract office processing requirements to ensure efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with PVAMU, TAMUS and State guidelines. This role also involves coordinating reviews by the Office of General Counsel (OGC) if required, following contracts from origination to full execution, including purchasing if required, and coordinating with department contract administrators to ensure effective contract monitoring and close-out as assigned. The specialist will communicate with department personnel and vendors to address and resolve procurement and contract-related matters. Additionally, the role includes preparing bid/proposal documents, facilitating the selection process, issuing purchase orders, and managing all aspects of the RFP processes. A key responsibility is maintaining the contract database system for status monitoring and reporting, and uploading/maintaining completed contract files. The position also serves as a liaison with university departments related to Office of University Compliance operations and selected external and internal audit activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
