About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Department of Health and Human Services, located in Wake County. The role supports the Contract and Grants Management team in basic operational functions, including executing and maintaining contracts, processing financial statements, and reporting or compliance requirements. The employee will work directly with programmatic employees and vendors to facilitate the implementation of grant dollars. This involves assisting in the creation of Statements of Work and other pre-award documents, facilitating award procedures through internal systems (including OpenWindow), and ensuring post-award compliance. Additionally, the employee will provide administrative support and training to other Contract Administrators as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressive procurement or contract administration experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of the North Carolina Contract Management Certification Program within one year of hire into the position.
  • Working knowledge of contracts.
  • Ability to negotiate new contracts.
  • Ability to compose general, routine contract documents and correspondence.
