About The Position

BRMi is seeking a Contract Manager to support our customer's business objectives by negotiating, executing, and managing commercial contracts for the acquisition of goods and services. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, leading negotiations on contract modifications, and providing guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters, requirements, risk management, and mitigation strategies. The Contract Manager will ensure the appropriate level of effort and attention based on contract complexity, value, and risk, establish acquisition strategies, and coordinate contract reviews with Procurement Management and the Office of General Counsel. Responsibilities also include analyzing proposals, performing cost and price analysis, developing negotiation objectives, and leading negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors. The role requires meeting with business units and vendors to review key contract terms, interpreting contract provisions, closing out contracts or issuing termination notices, and presenting recommendations to resolve unique and complex issues. Effective communication, anticipation of issues, and identification of solutions are essential. This is a W2 opportunity only.

Requirements

  • Experience with contract law, terms, and conditions.
  • Experience in acquisition planning, strategy development, negotiations, contract management and administration, pricing analysis, and acquisition requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracting and business practices.
  • Experience evaluating and mitigating contractual risk.
  • Experience preparing written bids and proposals.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cost containment strategies.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively in difficult situations.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Contract Management, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support our customer's business objectives by negotiating, executing, and managing commercial contracts for the acquisition of goods and services.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts.
  • Lead negotiations on contract modifications with stakeholder input.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters, requirements, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the appropriate level of effort and attention based on contract complexity, value, and risk.
  • Establish acquisition strategies, including contract type, milestones, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate contract and purchase agreement reviews with Procurement Management and the Office of General Counsel as required.
  • Analyze proposals and perform cost and price analysis to determine reasonableness.
  • Develop negotiation objectives and lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors.
  • Meet with business units and vendors prior to contract execution to review key contract terms, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Interpret contract provisions and provide guidance to business units.
  • Lead negotiations on contract modifications.
  • Close out contracts or issue termination notices and review settlement proposals.
  • Present recommendations to resolve unique and complex issues.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Anticipate issues and identify solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
