About The Position

TK Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Contract Manager at the Potter County Jail in Amarillo, Texas. This is an RN position and requires a current, valid Texas Registered Nurse license. The Contract Manager provides clinical and operational oversight of contracted healthcare services within the facility. This role focuses on contract compliance, quality of care, continuity of care, utilization review, clinical monitoring, and coordination between TK Health, Potter County Jail, the contracted healthcare provider, hospitals, and other healthcare agencies. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with experience in correctional healthcare, nursing leadership, quality improvement, utilization review, compliance, or case management who is interested in moving into a healthcare oversight and contract management role.

Requirements

  • Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas – REQUIRED
  • Current CPR certification
  • Appropriate nursing education, training, and professional experience
  • Ability to maintain required continuing education, including at least 12 hours annually
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers, correctional leadership, hospitals, and government agencies

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the contracted healthcare provider's compliance with applicable ACA, NCCHC, PREA, ICE, and minimum jail standards.
  • Serve as the day-to-day liaison between the contracted healthcare provider and Potter County Jail regarding clinical operations, quality improvement, and contract performance.
  • Review inmate medical records to ensure documentation is current and treatment plans accurately reflect the care being provided.
  • Monitor clinical contract compliance, including contracted staffing levels and other performance requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities related to inmate healthcare services.
  • Identify potential areas of noncompliance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor implementation of accepted corrective recommendations.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to healthcare best practices.
  • Assist with evaluation and recommendations regarding contract amendments when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with public health programs and other county and state healthcare agencies regarding infectious disease, mental health, and other inmate healthcare needs.
  • Help coordinate continuity of care when inmates transition between Potter County Jail, hospitals, and other facilities.
  • Investigate clinical concerns or issues referred by Potter County Jail administration.
  • Monitor inmates who are admitted to area hospitals as appropriate.
  • Identify, document, and report significant clinical findings or potentially problematic patient-care issues.
  • Prepare requested reports for Potter County Jail and TK Health.
  • Provide monthly performance and compliance reporting.
  • Participate in committees addressing inmate medical services as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
