About The Position

On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for a Contract Manager (Inside IR35) for an initial 6 month contract based hybrid in London. Office attendance is 3 days a week. The role is also open to other locations in the UK. The first duty of Government is to protect the public. Since 1782, the Home Office has led work to keep the country safe from those who seek to do it harm; in doing so, we make a vital contribution to HM Government’s plan for a stronger, fairer, outward-looking and united Britain. The Home Office covers three systems Homeland Security, Public Safety and Borders, and Immigration and Citizenship. These systems work collaboratively to deliver our cross-cutting priorities, whilst providing increasingly efficient and secure services for the public. These are difficult areas that can rapidly change in the global environment we work in – this makes us one of the most exciting and stimulating government departments in which to work. Role Profile: To support the Police and Public Protection Technology Team (PPPT) in managing the Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) contract, a critical commercial arrangement supporting technology delivery across the department. This is an excellent opportunity for a contract management professional with strong commercial expertise to join a high-profile programme and support the successful management and transition of complex, high-value contracts.

  • Proven experience managing complex, high-value contracts across the full contract lifecycle.
  • Strong commercial and public sector procurement knowledge, including CCS frameworks.
  • Excellent supplier, customer and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong contract change control and governance experience.
  • Experience supporting contract exit, transition and service transfer activities.
  • Good understanding of contract law, commercial risk and governance.
  • Active SC Clearance is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within Central Government or the wider Public Sector.
  • Experience working with multiple suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Knowledge of technology, discovery and professional services contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day commercial and contractual activities relating to the Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) contract.
  • Review and challenge Statements of Work (SoWs), cost models, rate cards and commercial proposals from suppliers.
  • Lead contract change control activities, ensuring changes are properly governed and documented.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve value for money and minimise risk.
  • Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, service levels and deliverables.
  • Produce and analyse Management Information (MI) reports to support contract governance and decision-making.
  • Build effective relationships with internal customers, stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Support commercial governance meetings and provide contractual advice to stakeholders.
  • Assist with contract exit and transition planning activities, ensuring a smooth transition of services.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks, issues and opportunities throughout the contract lifecycle.
