About The Position
Contract Custodian for Arc of Onondaga. Now Hiring in Utica and Verona. Part-Time Positions Available. In accordance with Source America and the New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID), Arc of Onondaga invites applications from veterans and or people that have documented disabilities that would inhibit their ability to acquire and maintain competitive employment. The purpose of these contracts is to provide opportunities to both veterans and those with disabilities seeking employment. The Contract Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of assigned facilities. Duties may include both interior and exterior cleaning, depending on the contract requirements. Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, and performing other custodial tasks as assigned. Additional duties may include carpet shampooing, floor stripping and waxing, and burnishing floors. Work is typically performed at client locations throughout the community. This position also requires the safe and proper use of cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals while following established safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to travel independently to assigned work sites.
- Ability to report to work reliably and on time.
Nice To Haves
- At least six months of custodial, janitorial, or related experience preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of assigned facilities.
