This role involves providing fair, respectful, and culturally relevant services to First Nations children and families, adhering to the Agency’s By-Laws, Policies, Procedures, and the Ontario Child Protection Standards. The position requires developing community links to address issues affecting First Nations children and families, and providing ongoing child protection services to both voluntary and non-voluntary clients. Key responsibilities include investigating allegations of child abuse and/or maltreatment, intervening in crisis situations, assessing risk, and determining necessary actions, which may include alternative placements. The worker will advocate for support services, participate in team objectives, coordinate customary care and society placements, and act as a witness in court matters.
