About The Position

Rocket Lawyer is seeking Contract Attorneys to provide legal services to its members through Rocket Legal Professional Services (RLPS), an Arizona-based law firm. This is a remote, independent contractor position where attorneys will be assigned matters corresponding to their practice areas and availability. RLPS handles administrative tasks, allowing attorneys to focus on providing legal services. The role involves client interaction, practical problem-solving, and independent work with team support. Matters may include legal consultations, document review and drafting, contract-related work, business matters, estate planning, consumer issues, and general legal services. Attorneys will also answer questions and provide informational consults on the Rocket Lawyer Platform through services like 'Ask a Legal Pro' and 'Consult a Legal Pro'.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of practical experience in advising individuals and businesses in your area of expertise.
• An active license in at least 1 US state where you are in good standing with your local state bar with no previous public disciplinary action.
• Maintain lawyers’ professional liability insurance in accordance with the Terms of Service.
• Comfort with technology and the ability to quickly learn and use our tools to enhance the customer experience.
• Strong verbal communication skills for effective customer consultations via phone and/or video conference.
• A customer-first mentality and a dedication towards going the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction and success.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Landlord / Tenant, Employment Law, Corporate law, Contracts & Business Transactions, Real Estate Law, Family Law, Finance.

Responsibilities

• Work remotely with customers, collaborating virtually.
• Provide legal service to Rocket Lawyer members via paid engagements for clearly defined legal services.
• Provide legal information to customers via brief, written responses using the Ask a Legal Pro service.
• Connect with customers by phone for 20-minute live consults requested and scheduled from the Rocket Lawyer platform.
