About The Position

The United Firm is seeking an EOIR Associate Attorney to join their team. This is a contract, appointment-based, hybrid engagement focused on protecting clients' rights in immigration law. The firm is building a network of qualified contract attorneys to appear at immigration court or USCIS interviews. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience and further their career. The EOIR Attorney will report to the Managing Attorney, manage their own caseload and client interactions, and collaborate with the Immigration team. The position requires in-person court appearances.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar license in the State (e.g., California, Texas)
Experience with immigration court proceedings or USCIS interviews
Able to manage your own schedule and communicate effectively with remote team/staff
Reliable travel within the metro area/courthouse visits
Excellent writing and advocacy skills

Nice To Haves

1+ year of immigration-law experience (court/agency)
Bilingual skills (Spanish a plus)
Familiarity with EOIR proceedings, USCIS interviews and immigration law updates

Responsibilities

Appear in immigration courts (e.g., master calendar hearings, bond hearings, removal/EOIR proceedings) or accompany clients to USCIS interviews
Represent clients in non-detention or detained matters (as needed) and/or participate in immigration-related hearings
Maintain full control of your schedule: you pick your appearances, when and where (within the city/region)
Prepare and review case documents, coordinate with the central team, update status post-appearance
Ensure timely reporting of hearing outcomes back to the central team
