About The Position

The Contract Analyst is responsible for project coordination, research, analysis, and negotiations of assigned projects. Projects may include capital service agreements and/or non-capital. The role requires coordination of demonstrations/evaluations with vendors and departments, development and utilization of assessment protocols, and analysis of agreements to ensure compliance and savings. The analyst will identify alternate vendors and products for efficiency and cost reduction, manage capital requests, and oversee the RFP/RFI/RFQ process. Additionally, the role involves managing the sale, donation, or disposal of used equipment, maximizing technological resources, and participating as a team leader on projects. Financial analysis, contract negotiations, and purchase order preparation are key responsibilities. The analyst will also reconcile discrepancies, support the OR/Purchasing Committee, and ensure accurate pricing within the item file.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in a business field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in purchasing
  • Experience in negotiating contracts

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates demonstrations/evaluations with vendors and departments ensuring appropriate approvals have been obtained
  • Develops and utilizes assessment protocol for research, evaluation, vendor selection and acquisition
  • Ensures that orders are placed promptly for related evaluations when requests are in accordance with policy
  • Evaluation and analysis of GPO Virginia Alliance and Centra agreements and provides reports to demonstrate compliance and savings
  • Functions within the departmental and organizational policies and procedures
  • Identify alternate vendors and products to achieve process efficiencies and cost reductions
  • Manages the allocation of capital request to the departmental resources and supports as needed
  • Manages the organization and vendors during the RFP/RFI/RFQ process
  • Manages the sale, donation or disposal of used equipment
  • Maximizes current technological resources of the supply chain
  • Other duties that may be assigned from time to time
  • Participates as a team leader on projects by ensuring proper meeting scheduling, prior planning and minutes
  • Performs financial analysis and conducts contract negotiations for assigned projects in collaboration with Director and Requesting Department
  • Possess flexibility to changing priorities
  • Prepares purchase orders, reconciles discrepancies with vendors; coordinates credits, returns or replacement of defective/damaged items through Materials Management Information System
  • Provides constructive input to departmental and organizational process improvements
  • Responsible for accurate pricing within the item file according to contract agreements.

  • Supports purchasing functions related to construction projects
