About The Position

The Contract Analyst II role at H&P offers the opportunity to support our drilling and technology businesses while partnering closely with Sales, Legal, Operations, Risk Management, and Revenue teams. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our contracts are accurate, compliant, and executed on time—directly contributing to H&P’s ability to deliver reliable, high-quality service to our customers.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of drilling operations, oil and gas services, or a related industry preferred.
  • Advanced experience in contract administration, analytical, business operations, or a related support role preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with contract management systems or tools.
  • Prior experience supporting contracts in a drilling, technology, or oilfield services environment.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and common sense to interpret and carry out written or oral instructions and to resolve problems with limited variables.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and administer drilling and technology contracts, including related amendments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business and legal requirements.
  • Support the full contract lifecycle from initial drafting through execution, renewal, and close-out.
  • Maintain contract records and databases, ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and up to date.
  • Track contractual obligations, key dates, and milestones to support timely performance and renewals.
  • Analyze key contract metrics and data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Respond to internal and external contract-related inquiries and provide guidance to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Operations, Risk Management, Revenue, and other cross-functional teams to support business objectives and resolve contract issues.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual process requirements and company policies.
  • Identify potential contractual risks and escalate or recommend mitigation strategies as appropriate.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance contract management processes, tools, and overall effectiveness.
