About The Position

The Contract Administrator at Disney Entertainment Television (DET) will support the team in the administration of above-the-line agreements for production of pilots, series, and television movies. This position involves independent judgment, processing and decision-making. The Administrator will work closely with leadership in Contract Administration and across DET, helping to facilitate alignment of all departments with the company's processes and practices. Responsibilities include the accurate interpretation of agreements, maintaining and following WGA/DGA Union rules and ensuring that tasks are handled in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the entertainment industry with general knowledge of the administering of the contractual obligations in talent agreements.
  • A highly organized individual who has strong communication skills, excellent judgment, is a self-starter, has the ability to work with a high level of detail and complexity and exhibits a professional and collaborative demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks concurrently and possession of strong time management skills are essential.
  • General knowledge of applicable union/guild agreements, with a particular emphasis on the WGA and DGA.
  • The candidate must be comfortable and confident when interfacing with a variety of team members, high-level executives (internally and externally), production personnel and talent representatives.
  • Strong IT skills and extensive database experience with expertise using a variety of database systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BLAST, IDeA and AirTable preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Correspond with Production Staff to process and draft Episodic Writer Agreements for series writing staff.
  • Process and draft Episodic Director Agreements in collaboration with senior Contract Administrators.
  • Process singular specialized payments on ongoing series productions such as Character Payments, Program fees, Royalties & Agency Package Fees.
  • Collaborate with senior Contract Administrators to facilitate processing of contractual obligations for high-level Overall players.
  • Assure that all administration matters are being handled in compliance with the applicable union/guild agreements.
  • Foster working relationships with Business Affairs, Production, Current, Labor, Finance and Casting across DET, as well as with line producers, production coordinators, payroll accountants, talent agents, managers and occasionally talent on each project in order to grow personally and professionally.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Contract and Casting Administration teams while holding self and team members to a high level of excellence and professionalism.
