About The Position
T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. The Role The Seasonal CI Technician supports the Continuous Improvement (CI) team in driving and sustaining operational excellence initiatives throughout the plant. This role assists with execution, tracking, organization, and sustainment of CI projects focused on 5S, standardization, process improvements, visual management, and workplace organization. The position is intended to provide flexible plant support during periods of increased operational demand, project activity, or improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Understanding of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement practices preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
- Basic computer proficiency required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Primarily production floor-based
- Requires frequent walking, observation, and interaction with production teams
- May involve light physical activity and lifting
- Seasonal role supporting operational and CI project needs throughout the plant
Responsibilities
- Support CI initiatives and improvement activities across all production and support areas
- Assist with implementation and sustainment of 5S standards throughout the facility
- Conduct routine area walkthroughs, audits, and inspections to identify improvement opportunities
- Track, update, and follow up on CI action items to ensure timely completion
- Support organization and maintenance of 5S boards, visual controls, area labeling, and documentation updates
- Assist with setup and maintenance of improvement tracking tools and dashboards
- Support cross-functional teams with plant organization and standardization efforts
- Assist with preparation for customer visits, audits, and internal assessments
- Help maintain workplace cleanliness, organization, and visual management standards
- Support training efforts related to CI and 5S expectations
- Monitor adherence to established CI and 5S standards
- Identify gaps and escalate opportunities for improvement to CI leadership
- Support ongoing continuous improvement projects and kaizen activities
- Assist in maintaining consistency between shifts and departments
