About The Position

Magellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting new opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Specialist. The purpose of this position is to support and drive operational excellence initiatives in our supply chain. The successful incumbent will work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Leadership to identify improvement opportunities, support Lean initiatives, and help implement sustainable process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. This candidate must have analytical skills and is heavily involved in redesigning and creating improved Work Flows in sourcing, supplier selection and management. Must have strong Project Management Experience implementing changes.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field.
  • 14 plus years hands on Project Management experience managing diverse environments dealing with difficult stakeholders.
  • Manage suppliers with diverse value-adds.
  • Experience working in a challenging environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Extensive Experience Leading and implementing projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations by analyzing procurement workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing optimized process solutions
  • Direct project execution relative to contracts, baseline schedules and budgets.
  • Collect, analyze, and track supplier data and KPIs.
  • Lead efforts to reduce cost, rejections and non-conformances.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations to improve process capability and compliance.
  • Assist with documentation, standardization, and sustainment of process improvements.
  • Support AS9100 and aerospace regulatory requirements.
  • Train and support employees on Lean tools and problem-solving methods.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
