About The Position

ABB is looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join the team in our Byhalia, MS Distribution Center. This position will manage a customer-focused team and help the facility identify, tackle, and resolve improvements utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies on a daily basis. Additionally in this role, the Continuous Improvement Manager deploys and leads the continuous improvement strategy for a local organizational unit, including creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement. We are searching for someone who can mentor and coach teams to achieve operational excellence and drive improved results. Will have the opportunity to lead programs and projects to improve and sustain local business performance. And crucially, this leader will oversee the Customer Service function to ensure efficient handling of after-sales activities, including customer complaint resolution, structured issue management and timely responses to both internal and external customer inquiries. The work model for the role is onsite (#LI-Onsite) in our Byhalia, MS Distribution Center. There is an expected 10% travel for the role (largely to a sister Distribution Center in Phoenix, AZ).

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Proven experience driving operational improvements in warehouse or distribution center environments with measurable impact on productivity and cost.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, audits, key DC performance metrics such as fill rate, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, Manhattan, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency and ability to analyze operational data and develop actionable insights using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Experience in customer complaint management, root cause, corrective action, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must already possess work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred with demonstrated experience in Lean tools such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and waste elimination.

Responsibilities

  • Deploys and leads strategy and objectives of the local organization to deliver the improvement framework in collaboration with local Operations team and business leaders. Fosters awareness and commitment regarding continuous improvement at local management level.
  • Oversee the Customer Service/After- Sales support team responsible for managing customer complaints through ABB standard complaint management process. Ensure timely and professional responses to internal and external customer inquiries related to product issues, service and other concerns.
  • Drives root cause analysis and correction actions for customer complaints in collaboration with Quality, Operations and other distribution teams.
  • Monitor customer service performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities to enhance customer experience. Identifies and works to remove roadblocks that prevent the successful implementation and adoption of continuous improvement initiatives and oversees cases of conflicting priorities.
  • Promotes and leads improvement programs and projects within their own area of responsibility, with a hands-on (Gemba) and problem-solving approach. Leads a systematic fact-based approach to identify and evaluate opportunities for future improvement within the local organization.
