Reporting to the Associate Manager of Continuous Improvement, the CI Lead is responsible for working collaboratively with operations and maintenance to measure and lead troubleshooting activities to root cause to improve line performance based on PPIs and top losses. The CI Lead also serves as a coach on the line to drive understanding and execution of lean manufacturing methodology – including CEN, CIL and use of troubleshooting tools (5WHY, fishbone etc).

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Relevant experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to drive change within a team.
  • Able to coach others on the effective use of Lean problem-solving tools (5W+2H, PDCA, BDR, ECRS)
  • Sound working knowledge of various computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in APT and leading lean initiatives an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate execution of continuous improvement projects, supporting project sponsors or process owners in their successful completion.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key metrics like safety, quality, productivity, and cost to evaluate improvement success.
  • Own the centerline management system for the site to maintain the appropriate CL for production machinery and equipment
  • Analyze line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities including the creation of current state and future state loss trees
  • Organize and facilitate Kaizen workshops to drive incremental improvements in production areas.
  • Initiate and lead in waste reduction activities across the site
  • Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the lines
  • Develop, train, and mentor others in the use of Lean tools, approaches, and techniques to create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support the creation and implementation of new processes, process controls, reporting systems and training materials.
  • Collaborate across departments to identify training needs and coordinate training completion to bridge development
