About The Position

Harmon, Inc. is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Intern to join their team for the summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn from experienced leaders, gain hands-on manufacturing experience, and participate in projects that drive operational excellence. Under the guidance of the Continuous Improvement Manager, the intern will support manufacturing teams in fostering a culture of Lean thinking and continuous improvement. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, improved quality, enhanced safety, and waste reduction, while gaining valuable real-world experience in process improvement methodologies.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field of study.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in manufacturing operations and process improvement.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for driving positive change.

Nice To Haves

• Junior or Senior standing preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Analyze operational data and assist with identifying opportunities to improve inventory control, product quality, throughput, material flow, and productivity.
• Analyze operational data and assist with identifying opportunities to improve ergonomics and workplace safety.
• Participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
• Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation.
• Support the implementation and tracking of improvement projects.
• Create reports, presentations, and visual tools to communicate project progress and results.
• Work alongside team members to drive positive operational change and continuous improvement efforts.
