About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIE) is a hands-on problem solver and change agent who strengthens operational discipline, eliminates losses, and drives sustainable performance across the factory. As part of the Manufacturing Excellence team, the CIE leads key elements of UMS (Unilever Manufacturing System), R2S (Run to Standard), 5S, Training System development, and Continuous Improvement to enhance safety, quality, reliability, and productivity. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field.
  • 3-5+ years of practical experience with CI methodologies: TPM, WCM, or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience leading E2E improvement projects in production, process, logistics, and/or warehouse environments.
  • Proven experience leading change management.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, CMMS, Visio, Informance, and other factory information systems.
  • Self‑driven, detail‑oriented, and resilient in fast‑paced operational settings.
  • Skilled in data analysis, dashboarding, and performance reporting.
  • Comfortable working with digital tools, CI systems, and manufacturing databases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support deployment of Unilever Manufacturing System pillars and integrate them into daily operations.
  • Drive R2S standard adherence, centerlining, and line stability to ensure consistent performance.
  • Conduct time & motion studies and internal logistics assessments to unlock flow and savings.
  • Lead savings and waste‑reduction projects using TPM, WCM, Lean Six Sigma tools, and structured problem solving.
  • Identify systemic gaps, analyze process performance, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement preventive standards.
  • Facilitate Kaizens (Standard, Major, Advanced) and replicate best practices across lines.
  • Co‑own the Factory Training System, ensuring robust skill matrices, documentation, and trainer effectiveness.
  • Deliver or coordinate training in technical standards, CI tools, problem‑solving, and 5S.
  • Lead factory‑wide 5S and basic‑conditions programs to maintain clean, safe, and efficient work environments.
  • Develop or update Technical Standards to strengthen process stability and ownership.
  • Manage systems for accurate data collection (production, losses, training, MMP Code).
  • Convert data into actionable insights and communicate clearly across organizational levels.
